Fibre Optics

We offer a complete service from a full installation to desktops, backbone cabling and single runs.

We utilise the latest pulling techniques in order to keep the stress levels on the fibre optics below the manufacturers recommended levels. All fibre optic cores are tested end-to-end and a printed test result is provided for every core of fibre optic cable.

How do fibre optics work?

Fibre optics use the principal of total internal reflection to transmit light signals between two devices

Why use fibre optics?

Further transmission distances between devices.

EMI = Electro-Magnetic Interference

Data Cabling

No data communication system is complete without the cable installation. From a simple network for two PC’s to multiple user applications.

There are many various types of data cabling still around:

Arc-net - A 1970’s type of cabling system, very dated
Thick Ethernet - Primarily used as a backbone cable to a
network infrastructure where lengths of over 100 meters are required. Now widely replaced with fibre optics.
Thin Ethernet – A 10 Mbps cable network wired in a loop format, problems occur if one user disconnects the cable link.
Twinax – A very early Token Ring cabling system for IBM AS400 users with only seven users allowed to connect to a network at any given time.
IBM Type 1 – A late 1970’s star wired Token Ring system that is still in use in some buildings and is gradually being replaced with Category 5e / Category 6.
Category 5/5E and Category 6* The most common type of data cable currently installed, allowing users the option of converging data/voice/audio/video conferencing/internet over a single platform

Voice Cabling

From additional extensions, relocations, modifications or upgrades to your existing telephone system or a new fully digital system with unlimited extensions.

Structured Cabling

A structured cable system is the infrastructure of all communication networks, voice/data/audio/video conferencing/internet over a single medium platform. A properly

Usually hidden within a buildings walls/floors/ceilings etc, no single investment in technology will last longer than a properly installed cable infrastructure.

The cable infrastructure is the foundation on which all technologies will run and is the most important aspect of any communication network.

Datacabler Communications are leaders in the field of Category 5/5E/6 structured cabling systems and utilise only the highest quality components, which conform to the following categories defined by EIA/TIA 568 ISO 11801 TSB-40/40A and TSB-36 international cabling standards. (TSB= Technical Services Bulletin)

Copper and/or fibre optic cables are linked together to carry

Network Health Checks

Is the performance of your existing network cabling up to the latest standards?

A study performed by American Company LeCroy, a tests and measurements equipment manufacturer concludes that failures within the cabling infrastructure account for an average loss of $250,000 per year per 100 users. Losses are measured in user productivity, network manager effort and business downtime. Couple this with the fact that the cable infrastructure represents approximately ten percent of the overall network installation costs and you can see the reason to be concerned.

Fortunately for the people responsible for cable infrastructure, a system of standards exists that defines the expectations and limitations of the cable installations and provides the direction for technological advances.

We have the latest test equipment to ensure that money spent on Information Technology Hardware is not wasted because the cable platform will not support the high bandwidth or MBPS required with the latest devices.

Voicemail

Voicemail has virtually replaced telephone answering machines.

The features and benefits of voicemail are listed below:

· Operator back up - This eliminates the need for other members of staff becoming operators.

· 24 hour operation - Eliminates time barriers for companies dealing with overseas clients or the out of hours service industry.

· Message alerts - Incoming messages can automatically be forwarded to a mobile, pager or home telephone number and avoids the requirement to access messages regularly.

· Password Protection - Allows authorized users access to messages and promotes confidentiality.

· No misunderstood messages - Saves a great deal of time and allows the recipient to be prepared when returning a call.

Facsimilie Machines

We supply, install and maintain a full range of facsimile machines including the following makes:

British Telecom, Brother, OKI, Panasonic, Philips, Samsung, Sharp.

We also supply a range of cleaning kits, Fax & Modem switches, Fax paper and a full range of consumables

UPS

Any power failure/lightening strike within a communication device can have a severe impact on a companies operation. A power supply gives immediate decrease in the risk of a systems downtime.

Power supplies can be supplied and fitted for all devices that are susceptible to any loss of electrical current

ISDN

Integrated Service Digital Network

The features and benefits of ISDN are:

More Resilient Network – Speech paths are much clearer and erases the necessity of re-sending data files due to transmission errors on poor quality lines.
High Speed Data Transmissions – Saving time spent transferring data and call costs.
Caller Line Identity (CLI) – Displays the callers identity (when available) prior to answering the call and allows ‘screen popping’ to bring up customer information on to a computer screen.
Direct Dial In (DDI) – Allows any extension number to be called direct and saves the requirement of an operator.
Peer to Peer Connection – A call can be transferred from the office directly to a mobile or remote telephone, this provides the facility to be “in when your out” and offers a more effective customer service.

Computer Telephony Integration

CTI is the integration between the computer network and the telephone system. This allows incoming calls to be routed to the correct department and allows a synchronised screen presentation by picking up the caller number and obtaining information from your database to show customers details on screen before the call is answered.

Telephone Systems Installation

New and second hand systems can be supplied, installed and commissioned to suit all requirements and budgets.

CCTV & Burglar Alarms

Whilst installing the communications cabling some companies prefer to have one single supplier to cover all installations. We at Datacabler Communications can supply, install and commission all types of Closed Circuit Television, including twenty-four hours video recording

Maintenance Contracts

Dataday Communications offers a maintenance service second to none tailored to each individual customer's requirements. The responsive service is delivered in a way such as to minimise the disruption to customer operation procedures.

There are three options for first line maintenance cover:

Call Out Response Time
Option 1 within 4 hours
Option 2 next working day
Option 3 within 16 working hours

payment can be annual or monthly by BACS, Direct Debit or Cheque.
